1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using MyDanceScene (the "Service"), whether through our website or mobile application on iOS or Android, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

MyDanceScene is a platform that connects dancers with dance events, studios, and the dance community. The Service includes:

• Event discovery and filtering by city, date, and dance style
• User-submitted event listings with flyer uploads
• Studio and band directories
• Leaderboard and community features
• Partner discounts and deals
• Push notifications for event alerts
• Premium subscription for an ad-free experience

The Service is available through our website and mobile applications on iOS and Android.

3. User Accounts and Authentication

Registered Accounts:

• You may create an account using your email address and a password
• You must provide accurate and complete information when registering
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account

Guest Mode:

• You may browse the Service in guest mode with limited features without creating an account
• Guest users cannot submit events, access premium features, or participate in community features

Account Security:

• We use JWT (JSON Web Token) based authentication to secure your sessions
• You may reset your password at any time via the password reset functionality
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Premium Subscription

Subscription Features:

• Premium subscribers enjoy an ad-free experience within the app
• Additional premium features may be added over time

Billing and Payment:

• Premium subscriptions are offered as monthly in-app purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Payment is charged to your App Store or Play Store account at confirmation of purchase
• Subscription management, including billing, is handled by RevenueCat and the respective app stores

Auto-Renewal:

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period

Cancellation:

• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Play Store account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain premium access until then
• No refunds are provided for partial billing periods

Restore Purchases:

• You can restore your subscription on a new device using the restore purchases functionality within the app

Price Changes:

• We reserve the right to change subscription pricing; existing subscribers will be notified in advance as required by the app stores

5. User-Generated Content

Event Submissions:

• Registered users may submit dance events for review, including event details and flyer images
• All submitted events are subject to admin review before being published
• We reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove any submitted content at our discretion
• You can view your submission history and status within the app

Content Rights:

• You retain ownership of content you create and submit
• By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Service
• You represent that you have the right to submit all content and that it does not infringe on any third-party rights

Prohibited Content:

• Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
• False or misleading event information
• Content that infringes intellectual property rights
• Spam or unsolicited promotional material

6. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Submit false or misleading information
• Harass, abuse, insult, or discriminate against other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Impersonate any person or entity

7. Leaderboard and Community Features

• You may set a custom leaderboard display name visible to other users
• Your participation and activity may be displayed publicly on leaderboards
• We reserve the right to remove or modify display names that are inappropriate or offensive

8. Partner Discounts and Affiliate Content

• The Service may display partner deals, discount codes, and affiliate links
• Clicking affiliate links may redirect you to external partner websites
• We are not responsible for the products, services, or content of partner websites
• Partner deals are subject to the terms and conditions of the respective partners
• Sponsored content is clearly identified with badges or labels

9. Advertising

• Non-premium (free) users will see in-app advertisements
• Sponsored content is clearly marked
• Premium subscribers enjoy an ad-free experience
• We may track ad impressions and interactions for analytics purposes

10. Offline Mode and Caching

• The app caches event, studio, and band data locally on your device for offline access
• Cached data may not reflect the most current information available
• You can clear cached data at any time through the app's Settings

11. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference and governs how we collect, use, and protect your information.

12. Mobile Application Terms

App Store Terms:

• The mobile app is available through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
• You must comply with all applicable third-party terms of service (Apple, Google)
• Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them
• App store providers are not responsible for the app or any claims relating to it

App Updates:

• We may release updates, patches, and new versions of the app
• Continued use may require accepting updated versions
• We may discontinue the app or certain features at any time

13. Account Management

• You may update your leaderboard display name through your profile settings
• You may log out of the app at any time
• You may delete your account through the app Settings; this action is permanent
• Upon account deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy
• If you have an active premium subscription, you must cancel it separately through your app store before deleting your account

14. Intellectual Property

• The Service and its original content (excluding user-generated content) are the property of MyDanceScene
• You may not use our trademarks, logos, or copyrighted material without written permission
• We respect intellectual property rights and will respond to valid takedown requests

15. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
• We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of event information, partner deals, or other content on the platform
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim
• Individual studios and organizations are responsible for their events and services

16. Termination

Termination by You:

• You may delete your account through the app Settings or by contacting us
• You may cease using the Service at any time

Termination by Us:

• We may terminate or suspend your account immediately for violation of these Terms
• We may terminate accounts for fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
• We may discontinue the Service or features at any time

Effects of Termination:

• Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
• We may delete your account and associated data per our Privacy Policy
• Active subscriptions must be canceled separately through your app store

17. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through in-app notification or push notification. Material changes will become effective 30 days after notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

18. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

• These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States
• Disputes should first be resolved through informal contact with us
• You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis (no class actions)
• Claims must be filed within one (1) year or be forever barred
